Loans and Produce Supplies to Allies (Britain, France, Russia) prior to U.S. entering into WWII fall 2011

The Lend Lease Act was a program which the USA provided a mass of its aid to nations fighting Germany, Italy, and eventually, Japan during the second world war. The Lend Lease Act was passed by congress on March 11, 1941. It provided that the president could ship weapons, food,or equipment to any country whose defense deems vital to the defense of the United States. An amount of 50 billion dollars was fit by congress for the Lend Lease Act. The money went to 38 different countries with Britain getting a lump some of 31 billion dollars. Over the years the British government repaid 650 million dollars of the sum.
