The Lend Lease Act was a program that was created by the U.S to provide massive aid to nations fighting Germany, Italy, and eventually Japan during the second world war. The Lend Lease Act stated that the president could ship weapons, food, or equipment to any country whose defense deem vital to the defense of the U.S. An total amount of $50 billion dollars was fit by congress for the Lend Lease Act. The money went to 38 different countries, with Britain receiving 31 billion dollars. Over the past years the British government repaid $650 million dollars of the sum.
