Annexation of Hawaii
Overview
Hawaii was a Kingdom that was ruled by kings and queens for 83 years, and before being annexed, Hawaii was in trade with the United States of America. Since trust was established between America and Hawaii, the Hawaiian people thought it best to be annexed by America. In 1898 Hawaii was annexed by America, and after being annexed, the Kingdom of Hawaii became the Republic of Hawaii. Hawaii eventually became a state in 1959.
