Tet Offensive

One of the most important events that happened during the Vietnam War was the Tet Offensive. During the Vietnamese holiday, Tet, the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese Army led attacks upon South Vietnam and United State troops throughout 13 cities in central South Vietnam and a U.S.embassy in Saigon. The Viet Cong went to each house, searching them, and executing anyone connected to the U.S. military or Army of the Republic of Vietnam. This attacked shocked the United State troops. This attack was an absolute loss to the Viet Cong due to their casualties of 37,000 troops compared to the U.S.'s 2,500 troops but it was a very big turning point during the war.
