Overview:

World War 1 sparked off when Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria was assassinated in June of 1914. After the assassination of Archduke, Austria-Hungary threatened war on Serbia. Russia partnered up with Serbia and Germany partnered with Austria Hungary and at this point, they were extremely on the verge of going to war. The countries divided into the Allied (Australia, Canada, Brazil, United States, etc) against Axis (Germany, Russia, Italy, Japan, etc).After Germany made the decision to resume the policy of unrestricted submarine warfare, the US decided to get involved. WW1 eventually ended with the Treaty Of Versailles and the victory of the Allied powers. World War 1 ended on November 11, 1918. This involves foreign policy because our government had to come up with strategies on dealing with the Axis countries and their skeptical ways.
