Monroe Doctrine of 1823

The 1st original Monroe Doctrine was created and presented by James Monroe who was president at the time. James Monroe presented the Monroe Doctrine on January, 2nd of 1823. The man purpose for the Doctrine was to give the United States involved with foreign issues if Europe tried to act in aggression and take over any smaller countries in Latin America. Although it was effective it really wasn't considered or used until the 1840's. During this time Britain and France tried to get involved with the new add on to Texas and the United States was not having that. This whole doctrine was to be taken as a warning for European countries; it was to tell them to not try anything slick of the United States would get involved.
