The War of 1812
The United States took on the greatest naval power in the world, Great Britain.This was the start of the war of 1812, a war that went on for three years. The United States suffered many defeats at the hands of the British, Canadian, and Native American army men.American soldiers were able to fight off the British invasion in New York, Baltimore, and New Orleans. This boosted the United States national confidence. The conformation of the Treaty of Ghent on February 17, 1815 ended the war. All though it ended people still had many unresolved questions.
