Big Four Representatives

Brief Summary:
In 1919, the Peace Conference of Versailles took place at the Palace of Versailles in Versailles, France. Over thirty nations
participated in the event, and along with them were the "Big Four". The "Big Four" included United States, Italy, France, and
Great Britain. The reason why they were called the "Big Four" was because these four were superpower nations in war, and they
dominated the votes and preliminaries that took place during the peace conference. Each nation had their reasons to be at the
peace conference, most of those reasons were political reasons and advantages that this conference could bring their nation.
Each nation had a representative, in which spoke for their nation. The "Big Four" representatives included Woodrow Wilson
of the United States, Georges Clemenceau of France, David Lloyd George of Great Britain, and Vittorio Orlando of Italy. Each
representative had reasons why they were signing the treaty to gain France their freedom. Woodrow Wilson signed the treaty to
help a fellow ally, Georges Clemenceau signed the treaty to make Germany pay for their damage to France, David Lloyd George
signed the Treaty because Great Britain believed that Germany should be punished, and Vittorio Orlando signed the Treaty
because he was promised a piece of land if the war was ended between France, and Germany.
The Treaty was signed by Dr. Johannes Bell (Germany), and France received its break from the War with Germany. Not too
long after, Woodrow Wilson declared war on Germany so he could return to Europe with his "Fourteen Points".
