There are currently 192 Members of the United Nations. Six official languages are used at the UN: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish. The term United Nations, otherwise known as the UN, is believed to have originated with Roosevelt.

AIMS OF THE UNITED NATIONS:

    • Keeping peace throughout the world

    • Developing friendly relationships between Nations

    • To work together

    • To be a centre for helping Nations in need

PRINCIPLES OF THE UNITED NATIONS:

    • All Members have equality

    • All Member States must follow the Charter

    • Settle differences by peaceful means

    • Members must avoid using force to get things done

    • Domestic affairs of any countries may not be interfered by the UN.

    • Members should try to assist the United Nations
