Key Events

One huge key event of the Persian Gulf War was the invasion of Kuwait. This was the point where the war was evident, and it was obvious it had started. (Aug. 2nd, 1990)

5 days after this, the UN imposed sanctions against Iraq. this was important because it destroyed their economy. Despite this, they are still in force. (Aug. 7th, 1990)

Next year, January 17th 1991, The US leads a coalition that starts an air war with Iraq. This is a key event because this was the US's first actual conflict in the war they entered.

Feb-26th, 1991, the US takes control of Kuwait after an 100 hour ground war. This is a key event because it was a turning point in a somewhat one-sided war. It also somewhat signified the end of the war.

Two days after that, There was a cease fire announced. This was important because this signified the end of the conflict.
