The Monroe Doctrine affect

On December 2, 1823 Current President of the U.S. James Monroe, introduced and explained the new U.S. policy on the the political order of U.S.'s developing role across seas. This would later be known as the Monroe doctrine."The American Continents.... are hence forth not to be considered as subjects for future colonization by any European powers" stated Monroe during the speech. The doctrine became a cornerstone and base for American policy and how America would handle outside powers.

One of the reasons why this doctrine was created was because of Britain's urge to destroy the Spanish colonies in the Americas because of the trade restrictions the Spanish implemented towards the British.
