Deeper Thinking into Corollary to the Monroe Doctrine

The corollary to the Monroe Doctrine was introduced on December 4th in 1904 by Theodore Roosevelt. Roosevelt felt that by interfering and protecting other smaller Latin American countries we were protecting ourselves. In times of need; such as an attack on a Latin American country they would intervene and fight back for that country. This addition to the Monroe Doctrine gave the original proclamation its relevance back. Latin Americans were not in favor of the Corollary in fact they were against it. They felt as if they were being forced to allow the United States to control their customs . In fact the people of Latin America feared America more then they did Europe. This was not the original proclamation that Roosevelt was presenting it was more so the add on or reinstatement of what the controllers of America felt should take place.
