  1. January 8th, 1918 President Woodrow Wilson issues his 14 Point Speech about world peace, equality, and neutrality on behalf of the United States.

  2. In 1922 the U.S. Congress passed the Fordney-McCumber tariff act which increased the price of tariff imports to avoid imports from foreign countries.

  3. During President Roosevelt's second term, under his New Deal motions he acted through the neutrality legislation's to help keep the U.S. out of war but also strengthen countries that were being attacked.

  4. 1931 President Herbert Hoover and the Secretary of State created the Stimson Doctrine which said the U.S. won't recognize territory that was gained by aggression or violation of international agreements. ]
