United States & International Involvement

This is the symbol for the league of nations. It was founded on January 10th 1920. It was created after the Paris Peace Conference that ended the first world war.

The leaders of the Allied powers (France, Great Britain, the United States and Italy) would make most of the risky decisions in Paris over the next several months. For majority of the conference, U.S. President Woodrow Wilson tossed and turned to support his idea of a “peace without victory” and make sure that Germany, the main leader of the Central Powers and the loser of WWI, was not treated with much shame or with any further animosity from the allied powers. Regardless of, Prime Ministers Georges Clemenceau of France and David Lloyd George of Britain had many disagreements that punishing Germany thoroughly and pressuring its weakness was one of the only ways that they can be sure of their weakness. In the end, Wilson came up with an agreement on the treatment of Germany in order to push through the creation of his small project, an international peacekeeping organization called the League of Nations.
