Affects on the World

On January 8th, 1918, President Woodrow Wilson gave the last of his "fourteen points". This proposal included points such as, Poland being their own country, The League Of Nations will be created to protect all independent countries (no matter the size), and Russia will be able to decide its own form of government (German troops have leave their country). Although he was president at the time, his proposal was denied by Congress. Although he was president at the time, his project was denied by Congress by less than 20 votes. We then closed the doors to immigration for Japanese, Asians, Chinese, and Southern Europeans. This restriction was apart of the Emergency Quota Act, but the Immigration Act of 1924 aimed for Europeans specifically.
