Annexation of Hawaii

America's annexation of Hawaii happened in 1898. Many citizens of Hawaii argued against it and even started a petition to stop it. When Liliuokalani first became queen in 1891, she tried to reserve the will and freedom of Native Hawaiians. This relates to the foreign policy because the United States annexed Hawaii just because they wanted to until it was granted as the fiftieth state in 1959.
