Vietnam

After fighting against the French and successfully pushing them out of the country and dividing the country into two halves. The North who were pro-communism and the south who were against communism. The separation later led to a two decade long civil war with America backing up the south and joining in the war. Despite the efforts of America North Vietnam invaded and over took the South making the county whole under the rule of Communism. With the take over America placed a 20 year trade restriction upon the country which was later lifted in 1994. With the restriction off both countries signed a Bilateral Trade Agreement which led to economic flourish for both countries. Vietnam relates to United States foreign policy because of all we did in the country from the war to restricting their trade and later reopening their trade lines, signing BTA and other economic agreements.
