United States affiliation

Harry Truman was president during the Korean War, a few days after the war started President Truman feared that the soviets would start to spread communism internationally so he assigned the National security council to create report which was called "NSC-68." This report mainly called for military action to accommodate communism. General MacArthur had launched an attack on September 15, 1950, he sent troops on Korea's west coast also known as Inchon and some troops moved up North to Pusan (The Americans, pg.612). Half of the North Korean soldiers surrendered because they were trapped. United States did not tolerate North Korea's communism spread and wanted to protect South Korea.
