How it affected the U.S.

The Revolutionary War was fought to gain independence from Great Britain and it was successful. This war affected the United States by helping spread liberty and formation of a democratic government. Additionally, this war allowed the Declaration of Independence's ideas to spread to other nations. The most important thing that the United States received from this war was their freedom from British Rule. Freedom from British Rule allowed American colonist to do many things that they couldn't under British Rule. For example, American colonist were allowed to participate in free trade with other countries of the world.
