1904 Roosevelt Corollary to the Monroe Doctrine (spring 2012)

The 1904 Roosevelt Corollary was a reform to the Monroe Doctrine created by Theodore Roosevelt. The Corollary was submitted in written form on December 6, 1904. It included national problems such as railroad resolution, and also conservation of natural resources. The Dominican Republic came to a crisis when their government went bankrupt. The change in the policy was to keep European nations away from Latin America from trying to collect debts. Roosevelt's corollary was used to justify American intervention in Latin America.
