Great Britain:

America recently broke free from the colonial rule of Great Britain. King Geroge was the main contributor as to why America wanted to revolt against one of the most powerful nations at the time. A war emerged with Geroge Washington leading a victory for the newly developed country now known as the United States of America.

Spain:

Many countries were ruled by Spain and the Spaniard empire. Their imperialism was effective and controlled many countries across the globe, a lot was in South and Central America. The Spaniard also controlled a lot of the western part of America at a time.

Years following Monroe’s announcement, American policymakers did not direct the doctrine against Europe. Despite their military intervention in Latin American concerns had been made to be noticed that imperialism from Europe would become dangerous if they were not stopped. The Doctrine gave protection from countries that try to colonized other countries in the western hemisphere.

What is the Monroe Doctrine?

The Doctrine was a United States policy that opposed European colonialism in the North and South America. Its presence was enforced on December 2nd, 1823. President Monroe first stated the doctrine during his seventh annual State of the Union Address to Congress. Secretary of State John Quincy Adams had influenced and enhanced the development of the doctrine forming it to what it is today.

What Does it Imply?

France:

France had become relevant when beginning to capture many countries and colonizing it just like Great Britain and Spain. The French overtook land in the western part of America. This allowed an exchange in the land for currency between France and the U.S, allowing America to double in size.

Latin America

Spain, Portugal, the United States, United Kingdom, and France countries who were fighting for power and relevance during that era. While these countries: Panama, El Salvador, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Bolivia, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Brazil, and Chile were controlled by one of these countries.
