Early 1800's:

The United States was worried that Hawaii would become part on the European Empire.

1830's:

Britain and France forced Hawaii to accept a treaty and it would give them economic privileges.

1842:

Daniel Webster sent a letter to Hawaii saying that the United States has expressed interest in Hawaii and that they should no longer get help from the European Empire.

1849:

The United States and Hawaii signed a treaty of friendship.

1893:

Queen Liliuokalani tells everyone about the plan to publish a new constitution that will restore power to their Monarchy in Hawaii.

1883:

Hawaiian business men over throw the Queen with the help of the United States military and the Queen was force to surrender Hawaii to the United States.

1895:

Queen Liliuokalani was arrested after she tried to get back into power.

1898:

With the Spanish-American war going on President McKinley signed a bill which resulted with the United States annexing Hawaii and it became the United States 50th state.
