U.S Allies and Enemies

Background: WWI started in late July 1914, due to the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand by Gavrilo Princip, a member of the serbian nationalist group known as Black Hand. Prior to the assassination of the Archduke, the increasing hostility between the powers of Europe of the past 40 years made war inevitable, the assassination gave the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy a just reason to start WWI. The conflicting countries at the start of the war boiled down to The Triple Entente (Russia, Italy, and British Empire) vs The Central Powers ( Germany, Austria-Hungary, Ottoman Empire, and Bulgaria).
