1903 Roosevelt Corollary to the Monroe Doctrine

Summary:

The original Corollary asked that Europeans not increase their influence or recolonize any part of the Western Hemisphere. In the year 1904, Theodore Roosevelt the 26th president of the United

States, added his own policy to the corollary to the Monroe doctrine. This was a result of the United States being more willing to take on a policemen like role for the nations, especially for Latin America. Although This role would only be taken as a last result to ensure the united states own credentials. His policy prevents the United States to intervene with foreign countries until it was desperately needed. This was so that countries in the western hemisphere did not violate the rights of the united states, ensure their obligations to international creditors were fulfilled, and did not bring war or harm to America.
