1904 Roosevelt Corollary

The 1904 Roosevelt Corollary to the Monroe Doctrine was an addition to the Monroe Doctrine in Theodore Roosevelt's State of The Union address, following the Venezuela crisis in 1902-1903 (Crisis when the Venezuelean border was blocked by European warships). With the Monroe Doctrine already in affect, President Theodore Roosevelt added what was known as the "Big Stick", which stated that the United States would intervene if other nations such as Latin Countries were to try any acts of imperialism, along with any European Powers.
