Woodrow Wilson

Woodrow Wilson was the 28th president of the United States of America. In 1917, he entered the U.S. into World War I in an attempt to spread democracy. He was a conservative president and ironically used the campaign slogan, " he kept us out of war" to get re-elected. He put together the fourteen points plane that would, "A general association of nations...affording mutual guarantees of political independence and territorial integrity to great and small states alike." After the peace conference in Paris, Wilson brought the Treaty of Versailles to congress and asked, "Dare we reject it and break the heart of the world?" In favor of the republicans, congress rejected the treaty and Wilson died soon afterwards.
