1824(Jan 1)- John Quincy Adams was elected President of the United States by Congress.
1845(Dec 2)- President James K Polk invoked the Monroe Doctrine after it been out of of America's mind for over 20 years.
1852(May 5)- Some American agreed that the Monroe Doctrine was a argument against Cuba being in Spain.
1893(Jan 9)- The U.S. expanded its borders and conquered Hawaii.
1898(Jan 9)- The Spanish American War began.
