Key Event

The NATO intervention in Bosnia and Herzegovina constituted a series of actions initiated by NATO to authorize, and then conserve, peace during and after the Bosnian War. NATO's intervention started as largely political and symbolic, but deliberately expanded to include huge-scale air operations and the stationing of around 60,000 soldiers under Operation and Endeavor. In February 1994, on the 28th, the capacity of NATO embroilment in Bosnia elevated greatly. During an incident near Banja Luka, NATO fighters performing under Deny Flight shot down four Serb jets. On August 30, 1995, NATO officially lofted Operation Deliberate Force with huge-scale bombing of Serb targets. The bombing endured until September 20, 1995 and embroiled attacks on an estimate of 338 individual targets.
