Affects in the U.S Background: World War I also called The Great War was a major conflict in Europe. The war lasted

four years. Countries were separated into two powers; The Allied Powers and the Central Powers. The Allied powers were mainly made up of Great Britain, France, and Russia. The United States joined in 1917 after it could no longer remain neutral anymore. The Central Powers consisted of Germany, Austrian-Hungarian, Ottoman Empire, and Bulgaria. These countries were mostly banded together out of national pride. Overall there were 32 countries in the war.

During the war, Woodrow Wilson was president and before him foreign policy had an imperialist view. Wilson dropped that stance and brought the White House a new way at looking at the way that America would handle foreign relationships. President Wilson focused on a policy that aided it's alliences Britain and France, but penalized Germany for the damages. Throught the War, President Wilson wanted to remain neutral, while still helping our allied forces.
