How Wilson affected the World

Not only was the America affected by Woodrow Wilson's peace proposal but the whole world was impacted by it. During the time before Wilson even began thinking about the, Fourteen Points, he was thinking about neutrality. As the rest of the world was waging in World War 1, Wilson did not want any U.S. involvement in the war and he wanted the U.S. to be, "A special place in the world as a beacon of democracy, freedom, and justice" (4, U.S. Role in a Changing World). Even though later on he left that idea and asked Congress let him wage war with Germany. When the war was over the U.s. came out on top with Allied victory. That is when Wilson decided to think up the, Fourteen Points, and since it called for an international cooperation it affected the whole world.
