How it started

Due to World War 2, it separated Korea into a communist. There were a northern half and also the American-occupied southern half, and both were divided at the 38th parallel. When North Korean Communist army crossed over the divided part and invaded the non-communist South Korea is when the Korean War started 1950-1953, as you can see the war lasted three years. Although, the North Koreans where armed with soviet tanks which was a huge advantage over the South. In fact, because of the northern having gun advantage they took over the Southern Capital of Seoul in just a few days. It only took two months for the North to take over the entire Peninsula except a region around Busan port, which is a major port city. Then General MacArthur, who is the United Nation Commander during the start of the war, he got rid of the supply line of the Reds instead of just starting the attack on the southern. By MacArthur making that choice it led the United Nations troops to invade Luncheon which is a Port City near Seoul which was a success during the 10 day battle.
