The Neutrality Act
World war 1 was a really hard thing for the whole world it impacted a lot of countries in a bad and somewhat good way.But, It just seemed like every country was getting dragged into this war causing more debt and more damage. The united states although they said they wouldn't get involved in the war they got dragged into the war some how and people were not happy about this. This caused everyone to go crazy. The united states had lost so much money and had a lot of dead soldiers. To avoid getting involved in another war. The united states then created something called the neutrality act. This law was passed in 1935, 1936, 1937 and 1939. It took so many years to actually get it passes because a lot of things were left out that needed to be included in this act. For example, the first act that was passed was prohibiting the exports of arms, ammunition an implements of war. But, the act was renewed until 1937 because of the disorder it caused. But, after President Wilson finally got everyone to come to an agreement with the act it was finally passed. With this being passed it would allow the U.S to not have to get involved in the war unless they were attacked first. this put limits on the u.s's involvement with the war. This became the reason why the united states was called an isolated country. Which made isolationism the strongest weapon for the United States.
