First Shot

On February 4, 1899 the first shot was fired, sparking the start of a 3 year war. The shot came at the hand of William Grayson an American soldier who fired at a Filipino Guerilla. Just two days later on February 6 MacArthur ordered American troops to advance towards the Filipinos. This first shot would lead to the death of approximately 200,000 Filipinos and 4,300 American deaths.
