Acts

When speaking of Foreign Policy, America colonies had already made many acts about it before even becoming a nation, these acts helped to start the American Revolution and sparked the fire of the American people who wanted freedom.

The Alien Act

This act of four allowed the president to expel any immigrant or alien that he decided was a threat. This act was directed towards the French and Irish immigrants who were mostly pro-French. The law was made to show how wary America was of the French and their growth in Europe, fearing that the French and their ways would soon take popularity in America. Though it didn't really make an impact, as only one person was deported and only 10 convictions were made for being here,

Quebec Act

Not made for or by America, but affected America in a very large way, helping to set off the American Revolution. Made by the British Parliament to help set-up the Canadian government and to allow French Roman Catholics to continue practicing their religion. It also allowed Roman Catholic's to take part in their government.

Quartering Act

This act made commanders of the colony give British soldiers and officers living spaces. Made by the British Parliament, the act made people give food, water, and housing to soldiers of Britain that came to America. It was made to show that the British had command over the colonies and to show their control. It was resented, particularly, by New York, who at the time didn't have many things to give up.
