Timeline

-Fighting began in 1991 between the Republic and Slovenia in Croatia.

-The United Nations got involved on Sept. 25th, 1991.

-Nov. 27,1991 the Security Council approved efforts to deploy the UN peacekeeping mission in Yugoslavia.

-15 February 1992 the Secretary General recommended the establishment of the UN Protection Force.

-21 February 1992 UNPROFOR was established for an initial period of 12 months.

-February 1992-1993 The operational mandate of UNPROFOR extends to five Republics of Yugoslavia-Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia.
