The year of 1823 president Theodore Roosevelt noticed controversy between Europe and Latin American and felt that it was more than important to add a key document called the Monroe doctrine. Latin america at this time was in the transition to become independent with constant pressure on the nation.

These problems stretched out for many years and had ups and downs due to constant butting of heads. The way that the united states and Latin America working together to push away the pressure of Europe changed the way the united states functioned and the way the world saw Latin america.
