Philippine Revolution

After 300 years under the rule of Spain, the Philippines had, had enough and were ready to finally fight back. To do so, Andres Bonifacio a warehouse clerk decided to create a secret society to defeat the Spanish. The society was named Katipunan and grew to about 100,000 people by 1896 before the Spanish recognized their efforts. Soon the Katipunan would start war with Spanish officials with the first actual battle occurring on August 30, 1896 however they were forced to retreat loosing 150 soldiers.
