How it Affected the United States

The United States failed to ratify the Versailles Treaty and join the League of nations. Different ethnic groups disagreed with the treaty feeling like their country was treated unfairly and they should have gotten more our of the treaty. The stubbornness of President Woodrow Wilson led him to ask his own party to scuttle the treaty. These factors caused long term consequences over the next 2 decades left the United States on the sidelines as the unjust Treaty of Versailles and the ineffective League of Nations would set the stage for a more devastating clash between countries.
