How it affect the United States

The Korean War affected the United States in many ways; politically, economically, and military wise. USA took over almost total control over South Korean international politics. The American set up military bases for the 150,000 troops in Korea. Some places are named after Americans such as Walker Hill, a mountain in which General Walker fought the Northern armies. The South Korean population is taught to be friendly to the U.S. The U.S. has forced the South Korean population to buy their products at high prices because of their political dominance. U.S has a huge population who create cars, computers, and other things for a fraction of the price it would cost to manufacture those products in America. The Korean war gave the U.S. an important military presence in Asia. Korea provided as a land base for any future was with China, since it’s primarily a mountainous peninsula. The U.S. also uses Korea to test their military weapons and ports for warships. The Korean Army buys huge amounts of US-made weapons which provides America with large sums of money. Overall, the United States has only benefited from the Korean War.
