• Jose Marti: He was a poet and a journalist, Jose Marti spent his short life fighting for Cuban independence. He died in 1895 during a failed attempt to win freedom for Cuba.

• General Weyler: Born in Palma de Marlloca, Spain , he was known as the butcher during the Spanish American war , he put Cuban rebels in concentration camps killing 1/3 of them by starvation or disease.

• William McKinley: The president of the United States, who did not want to go to war with Spain, wanted to keep diplomatic relations with Cuba.
