Key Events

The United Nations mission was located in the cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia in the Republic of Yugoslavia. The mission lasted for about seven years between December of 1995 through December of 2002. The fighting in Croatia came to and end in October of 1995. In the beginnings of December in 1995, there was a Peace Implementation Conference held in London to implement the Peace Agreement on Bosnia and Herzegovina. By mid-December 1995, the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the Republic of Croatia, and other parties signed the Peace Agreement in Paris, France. The commitment that they had to abide by was to have their relations according to the ways of the United Nations Charter. They had to have respect and have sovereign equality with each other. They had to settle their disputes peacefully. They also had to avoid any operation that would go against territorial or political independence of each other.
