During the Six Day War the United States were unaware of what their actions might have led too. The U.S was in entitled for mostly everything that was happening during this period of time. They were the one's who accepted and declined any request. During this time Lyndon Johnson was president. During the war he offered no aid to Israel and no warnings. Even if the Arabs attack Israel he had no say in if they would receive aid. Instead of helping out with Israel’s economy he asks Israel to avoid any military action so he can have more time for diplomacy. In the other hand Egypt and Syria had a lot of support they had Soviet weapons and Soviet backing. Jordan also had support. They were armed and were supported by the U.S. The U.S had sent tanks to Jordan. Israel didn’t really have any outside backing. Because of this the U.S wasn't trusted.
- Israel runs the longest military occupations, which is one of the greatest sources of Arab resentment against the U.S.
- The U.S rejected Israeli requests for military aid and many other requests.
