May 1 , 1898- the first attack was led by George Dewey in the united states

June 12 1898- generalissimo and other leaders signed the proclamation of independence for the Philippines

February 4 1899- U.S sentries shot and killed 4 filippino troops whikch sparked the American vs Philippine war

July 4 1902- U.S declares victory over Philippines- American war the resistance continued until 1910

October 20 1944- U.S forces returned to the Philippines

July 4 1946- the Americans granted the philipines political independence
