Declaration of Independence and foreign policy

The founders of the America Nation believed in creating a country where the prosperity of all the citizens would realize by participating in a large commercial nation. And that this nation would be able to hold it's own against an often hostile world. The Declaration of Independence has often affected the world indirectly. The ideals of freedom that are expressed in our Declaration of Independence has been sighted by other countries in there attempts and successes of becoming free states. The idea that we're able to hold our own against a hostile world has been has been interpreted in different ways in different time periods. Most of our involvement in the Middle East has been explained as getting rid of threats before they arrive here. This isn't a discussion on weather or not our involvement is justified it's just to state that the Declaration of Independence states that we can hold our own against a hostile world.
