Key Events of American Revolution

The American Revolution included many important events that helped shape it. The Passage of the Stamp Act was passed in 1765 by British Parliament to put taxes on the American colonies. These taxes were placed on things like newspaper, legal documents, etc. to collect money for British troops. They were also assigned to help reduce the debt Great Britain had. The act was revoked in 1766 but it was after the war already ended. The Boston Tea Party was an event that directly led to the American Revolution of Independence. 70 men got on three British Ships and hauled their tea into the ocean as a protest against the Tea Act that was passed in early 1773. The adoption of the Declaration of Independence occurred on July 4, 1776 claiming that the thirteen colonies would be independent, but the British were not willing to give up the colonies. The battles of Lexington and Concord transpired when the British governor sent hundreds of British troops to conquer the military stores in Concord. This resulted in a brawl at the North Bridge on April 19th, 1775.
