American Revolution 1775-1783

The American Revolution was also known as the Revolutionary War that broke out between the British and the American Colonist. The Colonist fought back against England in order to be declared their independence. It angered the Americans that the British Government attempted to pass laws that made them enforce taxes and gave Britain more control. Tension continued to raise among the Colonies and England. The Colonies had no central government so they placed George Washington a former military officer in charge as Commander in Chief to lead the Colonies to war. On July 4, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was adopted and it stated that the American Colonies were freed from England authority. By 1783 the war was over a nation called the United States of American was birth into exist. In addition this relates to the unit two lesson foreign policy because the American colonies had a significant challenge of seeking international support it needed to defeat the British. But with great efforts, America had diplomatic success with France by forming the Treaty of Alliance and Treaty of Amity and Commerce on Februray 6, 1778.
