5 MAN COMMITTEE
The five man committee were a group of five men, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Roger Sherman, and Robert R. Livingston, who were responsible for drafting the Declaration of Independence and presenting it. Thomas Jefferson, a delegate from Virginia, wrote the Declaration of Independence. John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Robert Sherman, and Robert R. Livingston helped edit and revise some of the drafts of the Declaration. The other important people include King George III, and Richard Henry Lee. King George the III was the king of Great Britain and also ruled over the colonies. Richard Henry Lee, opened up the idea of independence from the king and Great Britain.
