US Allies and Enemies Spring 2012

During the time of WW1, the U.S. lead by President Woodrow Wilson, he tried making the world safe for democracy. When the war broke out in Europe in 1914, the U.S. citizens felt that they should stay out the war. President Wilson mistrusted the great powers of Europe and he established a policy of strict neutrality to avoid U.S. involvement in the war. President Wilson thought that the U.S. should have a place of democracy a beacon, a beacon of freedom and justice. When the Spanish American war hit during WW1, that war what a U.S. military success and also fresh troops helped balance the fight in Europe again Germany.[1]

The league the President Wilson dreamed of, from his policy failed to stop the Enemy Alliances aggression. Citizens of the U.S. wanted to isolate themselves because they were becoming a mounting threat to world peace. When a fight broke our in Europe, the U.S. sympathized with Britain and France in their struggle against Nazi Germany. December 7 of 1941, japan attracted Pearl Harbor and then the U.S. entered WW2[1]
