  • It affected the production of goods, it affect the American economy factories were producing things for the military instead of consumer goods and that affect the American economy greatly. Shopping rates decreased and there weren't no goods for anyone to buy. Everything produced by factories were supplies, weapons, and equipment. Factories weren't making resources for their country anymore, but another country war. The amount of money that the government was spending on the military , most funds were going overseas and no money was being returned to the United States, This created an imbalance in the balance of payments.
