Anti-imperialist League- A group that argues against to combat American imperialism. The group disliked the annexation of spanish territories.
Foraker Act; 1900 act providing a civil government for Puerto Rico. The goal was to prepare Puerto Rico for free trade with the U.S. The act gave most power in Puerto Rico to U.S. appointed.
Insurrectos- Cuban Nationalist who fought against Spain Colonial Regime in Cuba.
Platt Amendment- Amendment in the Cuban Constitution by which U.S. was allowed certain concessions.
Teller Amendment- A resolution by Congress in 1898 promising to grant Cuba independence after the war.
Wilson-Gorman Tariff- Passed by Congress in 1894. The tariff restricted U.S. sugar Imports.

Emilio Aguinaldo- The Philippines Revolutionary Leader.
George Dewey- Navy Commodore who commanded the U.S. surprise attack on the spanish on the spanish Fleet at the battle of Manila.
Leonard Wood- Colonel, the commander of the Rough Riders.
William R. Shafter- General who led the U.S. Army ground invasion of Cuba.
Rough Riders in the San Juan Hill.
